Map Updates Posted, Practice Games This Week

2 September 2026

The updated maps for Rounds 1 and 2 are live. The changes include new selections, increased times and/or game type changes on existing picks, and updated download links. Maps for the Final Round will be posted at a later date!

Details on Map Changes

There have been maps removed from the tournament, moved to a different round, changed to use a different game type and/or different time limit. There are multiple reasons why so I'll explain all the motivations here.

2 Wabe maps in the First Round: There were multiple alternatives possible for the first LMOTH game but they are all potentially going to be used in the Final Round or were just straight up not as good. The trade-offs of having 2 Wabe maps both with some of the same melee units was acceptable to me. This way things won't be spread too thin for the Final Round selections. Additionally, while Party on the Wabe does have pus/ghols like other Round 1 picks the only other map to have Warlocks is Nyx since Venice has been moved to the following round. Two of the alternative picks would have been very similar to the Gyre unit trade anyway.

Absence of Flag Rally and Capture the Flag: The common 1v1/1v1/1v1 scenario on 6-start maps in game types like Flag Rally and CTF relies more on an unwritten rule to keep the game balanced than on map design. There are 6-start maps where Flag Rally can play differently since the flags aren't 1:1 with starting positions so maybe we'll see one in the Final Round or a future tournament.

Trade Bug on As The Crow Flies: The Northwest start gets 1 extra thrall (1 extra trading point). It's the least problematic of the original map picks that were found to have imbalanced trades, and it's not something that should create a game-changing advantage. I like this combo a lot and not using it would have been problematic to work around with limited time to make changes.

Final Round Maps When?

Final Round maps will be posted after the conclusion of Round 1. I already have a preliminary list ready to go. However, 1 or 2 of the selections are not my first picks. There are a few things I'm waiting on before I settle on the Finals maps. Most notably, a couple of plugins need critical updates before they can be playable in a tournament. If one or more of these is fixed than that means shuffling some of the other Final Round maps either out of the tournament or to a different game.

Practice Sessions This Thursday (9/3) and Sunday (9/6)

Asmodian will be hosting tournament maps this Thursday night (9/3) at 9PM EDT and again on Sunday afternoon (9/6) at 2PM EDT. The latter to better accommodate the players in Europe.

Sign on to Bagrada on one or both days, join the games and sharpen your Myth skills against other tournament entrants!
