The Men in Shorts have claimed the top cash prize after dominating the final round with a 31 point, 4-win performance. Coming in 2nd was Yippee Ki Yay who kept up their momentum from the second round ultimately coming back from a near disastrous Round 1 result to finish in the top 3. Third place goes to The Crushers Guide to Gholisthenics who finished at the top spot overall after 2 rounds but failed to pick up a win for the first time this tournament which forced them to try and play catch-up all day.
See the Final Round Scores for official results. These scores determine the tournament winner and runners-up, not the overall scores that include scoring from the first 2 rounds.
All eligible players should reach out to me (toxyn) directly to make arrangements for receiving your prizes. This can be done via email at myth.valor.2026@gmail.com or direct message on Discord.
Prizes are divided evenly amongst teammates unless requested otherwise. Please reach out to me immediately if there are any desired changes to who receives what on your team.
During the final round, one of the Champions Group teams made accusations of collusion against MIS and YKY, most notably during the first 2 games (Break the Wheel/KOTH, Raisin Barn/Territories).
All films have been reviewed and the decision is that there are no penalties to come for any teams and the Final Round results are officially FINAL.
The moments in question triggering the collusion accusations against MIS and YKY are short spaces of time where they didn't attack each other during the first 2 games. There was certainly not enough to justify giving either team a penalty. Their actions were, in my opinion, within fair T/FFA play and one of them subsequently attacked or pressured the other in both games with no obligation per rules to fight each other before that. Their tactical decisions are ambiguous and there were actions by other teams that influenced their movements. There was never any point where they attacked another team together without attacking each other or ignored game type to purposely attempt to eliminate a 3rd/etc team to benefit the other. There were never any free flag tags given up by one team to the other and nobody else. The option for rotating hosts (GKG of MIS hosted all games) was offered but never requested and I did not see any reason during the games to do this either. Finally, any unwritten rules about Myth T/FFA are not recognized as official guidelines for gameplay in Valor.
I'd like to thank everyone that chipped in to help with this tournament behind the scenes and all the players. This edition of the tournament was purposely kept rather short in order to try to accommodate all of life's surprises and any plans already made by participants. More than anything, I wanted as many people to play as many games as possible and hopefully have some fun doing so. If I was able to help bring some renewed interest or new players to the game, even better. Another reason was that this was a return to Myth and hosting tournaments after many years being away from it all. Now, I have lot of takeaways to consider for a potential future installment. There were also a lot of ideas exchanged along the way about everything from map updates to new Myth features. Hopefully the sustained activity and input from players leads to some good things in the future.
There will be a few more site updates coming to clean up resources no longer needed. Map download links and all pages will remain online but some features like fetching current user nick name styling will get disabled at some point during the coming days.
I wish everyone a Happy Holidays and will see you all around!
