We are up to 10 teams registered with 2 weeks to go before registration closes on September 7th. We need 2 more teams to hit the magic minimum number of 12 total. The updates to the maps are getting close to being finished up.
We're 2 short of the target minimum number of 12 teams with 2 weeks of registration to go. Thanks to everyone that has helped spread the word via email, Bagrada.net and other Discord servers. Also thanks to everyone chiming in with helpful feedback on settings, suggestions for maps to check out, and pointing out quirks! Open offer to help with anything Myth you all have going on in the future - tournaments, map making/testing, dev/infra things, restaurant suggestions - whatever.
If you are looking for teammates to make a new a team, your best bet to find people will be joining the Bagrada Discord.
We did a complete play through of all the tournament maps with a full house of players over the weekend (thanks, Asmo). As far as the map picks go, most feedback was positive but there's room for improvement. So, I've rewatched some of the films to corroborate with all the feedback, as well as double-check for different exploitable map quirks. I also spent some time going over recent and old tournament films, and even revisited the original Valor map picks buried on a dusty old hard drive.
First off, most games will get higher time limits. Second, I will be adding a game to all rounds. Games will now stack up like so: Rounds 1 and 2 will be 6 games total including the bonus game, and the Final Round will be 7 games total with 2 4-start maps (no bonus games). Third, some maps will use a different game type, some will be moved to a different round. Lastly, there are also previously unused map selections coming!
Updated map list will be posted by or before Wednesday night (EDT)!
Asmodian will be hosting tournament maps this Thursday night (9/3) at 9PM EDT. Check out the updated maps when they're posted to download any you might not yet have then come join us to sharpen your Myth skills against other tournament entrants. Test out your unit trades and strategies, toss in your thoughts on the map selections, and have fun!
I found that Green Hell will need to use a different game type no matter what due to some flag placements in Flag Rally, KOTM and Territories that make things quite unfair. I'm torn on Red Sand Black Blood since I still like the combo but for the cross-map target concept to really work, the map design has to be different. Maybe an idea to revisit one day on a different (new?) map. Otherwise, it can be like a big merry-go-round in terms of team movement and essentially a race to what's likely going to be an undefended flag. Red Sand stays, escorting a flock of chickens to be whisked away to another dimension- goes. Other picks didn't live up to the hype or needed the aforementioned higher game time, or will need to change to not saturate any one game type in a round. Expanding on the amount of games means some more flexibility though I still want to maintain variety when possible.
